Clay County Education Foundation Works with Public, Private Sector to Bridge Gap

The Clay Education Foundation gave out $54,000 in classroom grants last year to enhance local public education. Thanks to generous private sector support, more than 100 teachers from 41 of our 42 public schools received a grant – representing a total student impact of 19,000! Executive Director, Makayla Buchanan, discusses how these funds translate to classroom impact:

“They can use that money for innovative projects not funded by the district that they can bring to students in their classroom –  hands-on activities, robots and LEGOs for students to code with, or even just books for the classroom library.”
