Tools 4 Clay Schools Working to Re-stock Classrooms

GREEN COVE SPRINGS, FL – The Clay Education Foundation in partnership with Clay County School District will kick off its second Tools 4 Clay Schools event this school year on Jan. 6.

Residents are asked to donating school supplies while they’re out shopping this holiday season. You can participate by donating new school supplies, $5 gift cards to any store that sells school supplies, or volunteering. The program’s mission is to be a resource for teachers and students to supply their classrooms. It is estimated that teachers will spend $500-plus of their own money for classroom supplies each year. Items and monetary support may be donated through New Year’s Day.

Individuals, organizations, and businesses are encouraged to become a part of this event by hosting supply drives, donating supplies, and/or volunteering time to prepare for distribution to teachers.

The Clay Education Foundation thanks its business and organization partners for their participation and tremendous generosity to benefit Clay County teachers and classrooms.

The Tools 4 Schools drive is a joint effort with the Clay Education Foundation, Clay County School District, and The Bailey Group, in addition to the Clay County business community.

The event will be Jan. 6 at Fleming Island High’s Teacher Training Center. Doors open for teachers at noon.

All teachers must present their ID badge upon check-in.

For more information on where to drop of supplies, gift cards, or how to volunteer please contact the Clay Education Foundation’s Executive Director, Makayla Buchanan via email at Makayla.buchanan@myoneclay.net.
