In the first summit, which happened in February 2020, teachers from three Northeast Florida counties engaged in discussion and learning around the topic of trauma-informed classroom practices. Attendees heard from Florida education commissioner Pam Stewart, Erica Wortherly, LCSW, and Hope Street. They also participated in a workshop led by the University of North Florida’s College of Education.

Going virtual in 2021, participants engaged in motivational discussion led by Jeremy Anderson around teaching during challenging times like COVID-19, continuing to set high expectations from the 2021 Florida Teacher of the Year, Krista Stanley, and some fun and relaxing breakout groups.
