Charities Share in Proceeds of Recent Sale of Fire Station

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS – Seventeen local charities shared in the proceeds from the recent sale of the Keystone Heights Volunteer Fire Department station. The station, located at 120 Flamingo St., was sold to Pinch a Penny for $400,000 after the volunteer department was disbanded after Clay County Fire Rescue opened Station 11 at 7390 State Road 21.

Since the building belonged to the volunteer department, the nonprofit was required to disperse the money to other nonprofits. Those who benefited from the sale include Community Church of Keystone Heights, Melrose Volunteer Fire Department, Mission of the Dirt Road, Lake Area Ministries, Gold Head Associates, Save Our Lakes Organization, Lake Region Development Corp., Answers Resource Facility, First Baptist Church of Keystone Heights, Children’s Home Society of Florida, Morgan’s House, Jordan Cooper Memorial Scholarship Fund, Clay County Education Foundation, Keystone Heights Sports Association, Seeds of Grace and Soldiers Freedom Outdoors.
